Related Product Information for anti-F2RL3 antibody
F2R Like Thrombin/Trypsin Receptor 3 (F2RL3), also known as PAR-4, is a member of the proteinase-activated receptor subfamily of which other three members are PAR1, PAR2 and PAR3. PAR4 can be activated by trypsin, cathepsin G, the activated factor X of the coagulation cascade, and trypsin IV. Irrespective of its role in thrombin-induced platelet aggregation, PAR4 activation is believed to be involved in inflammatory lesions, as show by investigations that have unmasked the effects of PAR4 on neutrophil recruitment, the regulation of edema, and plasma extravasation. PAR4 expression has been demonstrated in various cell types including endothelial cells, neutrophils and sensory neurons. F2RL3 methylation is associated with lung cancer and cardiovascular disease in human patients.

NCBI Description

Coagulation factor II (thrombin) receptor-like 3 (F2RL3) is a member of the large family of 7-transmembrane-region receptors that couple to guanosine-nucleotide-binding proteins. F2RL3 is also a member of the protease-activated receptor family. F2RL3 is activated by proteolytic cleavage of its extracellular amino terminus. The new amino terminus functions as a tethered ligand and activates the receptor. F2RL3 is activated by thrombin and trypsin. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

PAR4: a G-protein coupled receptor for activated thrombin or trypsin. Coupled to G proteins that stimulate phosphoinositide hydrolysis. Plays a role in platelets activation. Thrombin requires PAR4 for full spreading on a fibrinogen matrix. Widely expressed, with highest levels in lung, pancreas, thyroid, testis and small intestine. Not expressed in brain, kidney, spinal cord and peripheral blood leukocytes. Also detected in platelets. A proteolytic cleavage generates a new N-terminus that functions as a tethered ligand.

Protein type: GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p12

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; extracellular region

Molecular Function: thrombin receptor activity

Biological Process: platelet activation; platelet dense granule organization and biogenesis; response to wounding; G-protein signaling, coupled to IP3 second messenger (phospholipase C activating); positive regulation of release of sequestered calcium ion into cytosol; blood coagulation; signal transduction

Product Notes

The F2RL3 f2rl3 (Catalog #AAA8101401) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-F2RL3 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's F2RL3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the F2RL3 f2rl3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "F2RL3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
