Related Product Information for anti-EFNB1 antibody
Binds to the receptor tyrosine kinases EPHB1 and EPHA1. Binds to, and induce the collapse of, commissural axons/growth cones in vitro. May play a role in constraining the orientation of longitudinally projecting axons. Cell surface transmembrane ligand for Eph receptors, a family of receptor tyrosine kinases which are crucial for migration, repulsion and adhesion during neuronal, vascular and epithelial development. Binds promiscuously Eph receptors residing on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells. The signaling pathway downstream of the receptor is referred to as forward signaling while the signaling pathway downstream of the ephrin ligand is referred to as reverse signaling. Binds to the receptor tyrosine kinases EPHB3 (preferred), EPHB1 and EPHA1. Binds to, and induce the collapse of, commissural axons/growth cones in vitro. May play a role in constraining the orientation of longitudinally projecting axons.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a type I membrane protein and a ligand of Eph-related receptor tyrosine kinases. It may play a role in cell adhesion and function in the development or maintenance of the nervous system. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

EFNB1: a type I membrane protein of the ephrin family. A ligand of Eph-related receptor tyrosine kinases EphB1 and EphA1. Ephrins and ephrin receptors mediate numerous developmental processes, particularly in the nervous system. Ephrin-B1 may play a role in cell adhesion and functions in the development or maintenance of the nervous system. Binding to its receptor induces the collapse of commissural axons/growth cones in vitro. Induced by TNF-alpha. Expressed in brain, heart, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, and pancreas.

Protein type: Ligand, receptor tyrosine kinase; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq12

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; integral to plasma membrane; lipid raft; nucleus; plasma membrane; synapse

Molecular Function: ephrin receptor binding; protein binding

Biological Process: axon guidance; cell adhesion; cell-cell signaling; embryonic pattern specification; ephrin receptor signaling pathway; neural crest cell migration; positive regulation of T cell proliferation; T cell costimulation

Disease: Craniofrontonasal Syndrome

Product Notes

The EFNB1 efnb1 (Catalog #AAA1493377) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti-human Ephrin-B1 polyclonal Antibody(EFNB1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Ephrin-B1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Recommended dilution: IHC:1:20-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EFNB1 efnb1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ephrin-B1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
