Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Paraffin embedded pig coronary artery tissue section was stained for ETR-AR presence with the anti chicken-lgY and the reaction was visualized with antI-chicken antibody (red). DNA was stained with DAPI (blue) and endothelin 1 (ET-l) with rabbit antibody (green). ETR-A shows significant staining inthe endothelial cell layer that colocalizes with the ET-1 staining)

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the receptor for endothelin-1, a peptide that plays a role in potent and long-lasting vasoconstriction. This receptor associates with guanine-nucleotide-binding (G) proteins, and this coupling activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Polymorphisms in this gene have been linked to migraine headache resistance. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]

Uniprot Description

Receptor for endothelin-1. Mediates its action by association with G proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. The rank order of binding affinities for ET-A is: ET1 > ET2 >> ET3.

Product Notes

The EDNRA ednra (Catalog #AAA588272) is an Antibody produced from Chicken and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Endothelin Receptor Type A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
