NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene induces proliferation, migration, and fenestration (the formation of membrane discontinuities) in capillary endothelial cells derived from endocrine glands. It has little or no effect on a variety of other endothelial and non-endothelial cell types. Its expression is restricted to the steroidogenic glands (ovary, testis, adrenal, and placenta), is induced by hypoxia, and often complementary to the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), suggesting that these molecules function in a coordinated manner. Uniprot Description
PROK1: Potently contracts gastrointestinal (GI) smooth muscle. Induces proliferation, migration and fenestration (the formation of membrane discontinuities) in capillary endothelial cells derived from endocrine glands. Has little or no effect on a variety of other endothelial and non-endothelial cell types. Induces proliferation and differentiation, but not migration, of enteric neural crest cells. Directly influences neuroblastoma progression by promoting the proliferation and migration of neuroblastoma cells. Positively regulates PTGS2 expression and prostaglandin synthesis. May play a role in placentation. May play a role in normal and pathological testis angiogenesis. Belongs to the AVIT (prokineticin) family.
Protein type: Cell cycle regulation; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p13.3
Cellular Component: extracellular region
Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor binding; growth factor activity
Biological Process: activation of MAPK activity; angiogenesis; circadian rhythm; positive regulation of cell division; positive regulation of cell proliferation; regulation of angiogenesis

Product Notes
The EG-VEGF prok1 (Catalog #AAA2028799) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Endocrine Gland Derived Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (EG-VEGF) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Endocrine Gland Derived Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin/Paraffin, ELISA (EIA). Western blotting: 0.5-2ug/mL;1:500-2000 Immunohistochemistry: 5-20ug/mL;1:50-200 Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/mL;1:50-200 Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EG-VEGF prok1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Antigen: The target protein is fused with two N-terminal Tags, His-tag and T7-tag and its sequence is listed below. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Endocrine Gland Derived Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
