Related Product Information for anti-Elk-1 antibody
Short Description: Our Elk-1 antibody (pAb) was raised in a Rabbit host. It has been validated for use in Immunoprecipitation and Western blot; it has been shown to react with Human samples.

Background: Elk-1 (ETS-like gene 1) is a member of the ETS family of transcription factors and stimulates transcription. It binds to purine-rich DNA sequences, and can form a ternary complex with the serum response factor and the ETS and SRF motifs of the fos serum response element.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the Ets family of transcription factors and of the ternary complex factor (TCF) subfamily. Proteins of the TCF subfamily form a ternary complex by binding to the the serum response factor and the serum response element in the promoter of the c-fos proto-oncogene. The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear target for the ras-raf-MAPK signaling cascade. This gene produces multiple isoforms by using alternative translational start codons and by alternative splicing. Related pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 7 and 14. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2012]

Uniprot Description

ELK1: a transcription factor of the Ets family and the ternary complex factor (TCF) subfamily. Forms a ternary complex by binding to the serum response factor and the serum response element in the promoter of the c-fos proto-oncogene. Mediates gene activity in response to serum and growth factors. Phosphorylated by MAP kinase pathways at a cluster of S/T motifs at its C-terminus; phosphorylation at these sites is critical for transcriptional activation by Elk-1. Two alternatively-spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The Elk-1 elk1 (Catalog #AAA388849) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Elk-1 antibody (pAb) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Elk-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB). Applications Validated: IP: 10ul per IP WB: 1:500-1:1,000 dilution The addition of 0.05% Tween 20 in the blocking buffer and primary antibody incubation buffer is recommended to aid in detection by Western blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Elk-1 elk1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Elk-1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
