Rabbit anti-Human EIF2AK3 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-EIF2AK3 antibody
EIF2AK3, NT (Q163) (Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 2-alpha Kinase 3, PRKR-like Endoplasmic Reticulum Kinase, Pancreatic eIF2-alpha Kinase, HsPEK, PEK, PERK) (APC)
WB: 1:50-1:100
IHC: 1:50-1:100
Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of PERK Antibody (N-term Q163) in 293 cell line lysates (35ug/lane). PERK (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human hepatocarcinoma tissue reacted with PERK antibody (N-term Q163), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene phosphorylates the alpha subunit of eukaryotic translation-initiation factor 2, leading to its inactivation, and thus to a rapid reduction of translational initiation and repression of global protein synthesis. This protein is thought to modulate mitochondrial function. It is a type I membrane protein located in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), where it is induced by ER stress caused by malfolded proteins. Mutations in this gene are associated with Wolcott-Rallison syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]
Uniprot Description
PERK: a transmembrane protein kinase of the PEK family resident in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane and is linked to insulin processing. Couples ER stress to translation inhibition. Stress induces autophosphorylation of its kinase domain and increases its activity. Phosphorylates the alpha subunit of eukaryotic translation-initiation factor 2 (eIF2alpha), leading to its inactivation and thus to a rapid reduction of translational initiation and repression of global protein synthesis. A critical effector of unfolded protein response (UPR)-induced G1 growth arrest due to the loss of cyclin d1. Forms dimers with BiP in resting cells. Oligomerizes in ER-stressed cells. LOF mutations cause Wolcott-Rallison syndrome (WRS), characterized by insulin-dependent diabetes in early infancy and, later, multiple system abnormalities. Neuronal death in Alzheimer?s and Parkinson?s diseases is thought to be due to ER stress and has been weakly linked to PEK.

The EIF2AK3 eif2ak3 (Catalog #AAA6475220) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The EIF2AK3, NT (Q163) (Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 2-alpha Kinase 3, PRKR-like Endoplasmic Reticulum Kinase, Pancreatic eIF2-alpha Kinase, HsPEK, PEK, PERK) (APC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's EIF2AK3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:50-1:100 IHC: 1:50-1:100 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EIF2AK3 eif2ak3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EIF2AK3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
