NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes an isoform of the alpha subunit of the elongation factor-1 complex, which is responsible for the enzymatic delivery of aminoacyl tRNAs to the ribosome. This isoform (alpha 2) is expressed in brain, heart and skeletal muscle, and the other isoform (alpha 1) is expressed in brain, placenta, lung, liver, kidney, and pancreas. This gene may be critical in the development of ovarian cancer. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]
Uniprot Description
EEF1A2: an isoform of the alpha subunit of the elongation factor-1 complex, which is responsible for the enzymatic delivery of aminoacyl tRNAs to the ribosome. This isoform (alpha 2) is expressed in brain, heart and skeletal muscle, and the other isoform (alpha 1) is expressed in brain, placenta, lung, liver, kidney, and pancreas. This gene may be critical in the development of ovarian cancer. Promotes the GTP-dependent binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the A-site of ribosomes during protein biosynthesis.

Mouse, Rat; Expected from sequence similarity: Human, Mouse, Rat, Dog, Cow and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's EEF1A2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 8000. Western Blot: Approx 50kDa band observed in lysates of cell lines Daudi and Jurkat (calculated MW of 50.5kDa according to NP_001949.1). The same band is observed in lysates of Mouse and Rat Heart and Skeletal Muscle. Recommended concentration: 0.5-2ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EEF1A2 eef1a2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: NPATVPFVPI S. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EEF1A2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
