Related Product Information for anti-eEF1A1 antibody
The elongation factor-1 complex is composed of two subunits, EF-1 alpha1 (elongation factor 1-alpha 1) and EF-1 alpha2 (elongation factor 1-alpha 2), and is responsible for the delivery of aminoacyl tRNAs to the ribosome. EF-1 alpha1 is expressed predominately in brain, placenta, lung, liver, kidney and pancreas, while EF-1 alpha2 is highly expressed in heart, brain and skeletal muscle. Both EF-1 alpha1 and alpha2 localize to the nucleus and belong to the GTP-binding elongation factor family. The gene encoding EF-1 alpha2, which maps to human chromosome 20q13.3, may play a role in the development of ovarian cancer, while the EF-1 alpha1 gene, mapping to chromosome 6Q14.1, is commonly present as an autoantigen in patients with Felty syndrome. Felty syndrome is a disorder characterized by rheumatoid arthritis, a swollen spleen, decreased white blood cell count, and increased susceptibility to infection.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an isoform of the alpha subunit of the elongation factor-1 complex, which is responsible for the enzymatic delivery of aminoacyl tRNAs to the ribosome. This isoform (alpha 1) is expressed in brain, placenta, lung, liver, kidney, and pancreas, and the other isoform (alpha 2) is expressed in brain, heart and skeletal muscle. This isoform is identified as an autoantigen in 66% of patients with Felty syndrome. This gene has been found to have multiple copies on many chromosomes, some of which, if not all, represent different pseudogenes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The eEF1A1 eef1a1 (Catalog #AAA3012628) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The eEF1A1 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's eEF1A1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunoprecipitation (IP). WB: 1:500-1:1,000 ICC: 1:50-1:200 IHC: 1:50-1:200 FC/FACS: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the eEF1A1 eef1a1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "eEF1A1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
