NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the dynein intermediate chain family, and is part of the dynein complex of respiratory cilia and sperm flagella. Mutations in this gene are associated with primary ciliary dyskinesia type 9. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene. Uniprot Description
DNAI2: Part of the dynein complex of respiratory cilia. Defects in DNAI2 are the cause of primary ciliary dyskinesia type 9 (CILD9). CILD is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by axonemal abnormalities of motile cilia. Respiratory infections leading to chronic inflammation and bronchiectasis are recurrent, due to defects in the respiratory cilia; reduced fertility is often observed in male patients due to abnormalities of sperm tails. Half of the patients exhibit situs inversus, due to dysfunction of monocilia at the embryonic node and randomization of left-right body asymmetry. Primary ciliary dyskinesia associated with situs inversus is referred to as Kartagener syndrome. Belongs to the dynein intermediate chain family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The IC2 dnai2 (Catalog #AAA3013970) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Dynein IC2, axonemal (N105) Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Dynein IC2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IC2 dnai2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Dynein IC2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
