This protein is a dual specificity protein kinase that belongs to the MAP kinase kinase family. This kinase is activated by mitogenic and environmental stress, and participates in the MAP kinase-mediated signaling cascade. It phosphorylates and thus activates MAPK14/p38-MAPK. This kinase can be activated by insulin, and is necessary for the expression of glucose transporter. Expression of RAS oncogene is found to result in the accumulation of the active form of this kinase, which thus leads to the constitutive activation of MAPK14, and confers oncogenic transformation of primary cells. The inhibition of this kinase is involved in the pathogenesis of Yersina pseudotuberculosis. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode distinct isoforms have been reported for this gene.

Uniprot Description
MKK3: a dual-specificity protein kinase of the STE7 family. Activates p38 MAP kinase by phosphorylating a Thr and a Tyr residue in the activation loop. Is activated by cytokines and environmental stress in vivo. A deletion and two point mutants found in colon cancer cell lines. Three splice-variant isoforms have been described.

The MAP2K3 map2k3 (Catalog #AAA7005370) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti-human Dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 3 polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Recommended dilution: WB:1:500-2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MAP2K3 map2k3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
