Related Product Information for anti-DRD1 antibody
DRD1, a Dopamine Receptor, mediates the effect of the neurotransmitter dopamine, an intermediate in the biosynthesis of noradrenaline and adrenaline. It is involved in the control of motor activity and cognitive memory. Downregulation of DRD1 leads to severe impairments in working memory and to locomotor hyperactivity, which are observed in diseases such as schizophrenia, Parkinson's disease, affective disorders, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the D1 subtype of the dopamine receptor. The D1 subtype is the most abundant dopamine receptor in the central nervous system. This G-protein coupled receptor stimulates adenylyl cyclase and activates cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinases. D1 receptors regulate neuronal growth and development, mediate some behavioral responses, and modulate dopamine receptor D2-mediated events. Alternate transcription initiation sites result in two transcript variants of this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

DRD1: a G-protein coupled receptor. One of the five types (D1 to D5) of receptors for dopamine. The most abundant dopamine receptor in the central nervous system. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. Interacts with calcyon.

Product Notes

The DRD1 drd1 (Catalog #AAA244461) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human DRD1 / Dopamine Receptor D1 reacts with Gorilla, Human, Monkey Predicted Reactivity: Gibbon (at least 90% immunogen sequence identity) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DRD1 / Dopamine Receptor D1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin). IHC-P (5 - 10 ug/ml). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DRD1 drd1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DRD1 / Dopamine Receptor D1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
