Related Product Information for anti-RGMB antibody
Repulsive Guidance Molecule B (RGMB) is primarily expressed in the central nervous system. RGM A and B both appear at every level of the developing neural axis, where they colocalize to a large extent in the mantle layer, although only RGMA appears in the neuroepithelium, and only RGMB in the peripheral nervous system. During development, both RGMA and B appear also in lung and in limb cartilage, while RGMB has additional expression domains in pancreas.

NCBI Description

RGMB is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored member of the repulsive guidance molecule family (see RGMA, MIM 607362) and contributes to the patterning of the developing nervous system (Samad et al., 2005 [PubMed 15671031]).[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2009]

Uniprot Description

RGMB: Member of the repulsive guidance molecule (RGM) family that contributes to the patterning of the developing nervous system. Acts as a bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) coreceptor that potentiates BMP signaling. Promotes neuronal adhesion. May inhibit neurite outgrowth. Belongs to the repulsive guidance molecule (RGM) family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, GPI anchor; Cell adhesion; Transcription regulation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q15

Cellular Component: anchored to plasma membrane; ER-Golgi intermediate compartment; plasma membrane; lipid raft

Molecular Function: identical protein binding; coreceptor activity

Biological Process: BMP signaling pathway; axon guidance; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; cell adhesion; signal transduction

Product Notes

The RGMB rgmb (Catalog #AAA9205235) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 278-309. The DRAGON (RGMB) Antibody (Center) reacts with Human, mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DRAGON (RGMB) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RGMB rgmb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DRAGON (RGMB), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
