NCBI Description

Dermatopontin is an extracellular matrix protein with possible functions in cell-matrix interactions and matrix assembly. The protein is found in various tissues and many of its tyrosine residues are sulphated. Dermatopontin is postulated to modify the behavior of TGF-beta through interaction with decorin. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

DPT: Seems to mediate adhesion by cell surface integrin binding. May serve as a communication link between the dermal fibroblast cell surface and its extracellular matrix environment. Enhances TGFB1 activity. Inhibits cell proliferation. Accelerates collagen fibril formation, and stabilizes collagen fibrils against low-temperature dissociation. Belongs to the dermatopontin family.

Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q12-q23

Cellular Component: extracellular matrix; proteinaceous extracellular matrix; extracellular space

Biological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; collagen fibril organization; cell adhesion

Product Notes

The DPT dpt (Catalog #AAA9207321) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 45-72. The DPT Antibody (N-term) reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Mouse) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DPT can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DPT dpt for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DPT, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
