Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000
Western Blot: 1:50-100
Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-100
Flow Cytometry: 1:10-50
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of DPP8 Antibody (N-term) in Hela cell line lysates (35ug/lane). DPP8 (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human testis tissue reacted with DPP8 Antibody (N-term), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)
(DPP8 Antibody (N-term) flow cytometric analysis of Hela cells (bottom histogram) compared to a negative control cell (top histogram).FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the peptidase S9B family, a small family of dipeptidyl peptidases that are able to cleave peptide substrates at a prolyl bond. The encoded protein shares similarity with dipeptidyl peptidase IV in that it is ubiquitously expressed, and hydrolyzes the same substrates. These similarities suggest that, like dipeptidyl peptidase IV, this protein may play a role in T-cell activation and immune function. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
Function: Dipeptidyl peptidase that cleaves off N-terminal dipeptides from proteins having a Pro or Ala residue at position 2. May play a role in T-cell activation and immune function. Ref.1
Catalytic activity: Release of an N-terminal dipeptide, Xaa-Yaa-|-Zaa-, from a polypeptide, preferentially when Yaa is Pro, provided Zaa is neither Pro nor hydroxyproline. Ref.1 Ref.2 Ref.7
Enzyme regulation: Inhibited by zinc. Inhibited by the serine proteinase inhibitor 4-(2-aminoethyl)benzenesulphonyl fluoride (AEBSF), and by di-isopropylfuorophosphate. Specifically inhibited by isoindoline derivatives. Ref.1 Ref.2 Ref.9
Subcellular location: Cytoplasm Ref.1 Ref.2 Ref.7.
Tissue specificity: Ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels in testis, placenta, prostate, muscle and brain. Ref.1 Ref.2
Induction: In activated T-cells. Ref.1 Ref.2 Ref.9
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the peptidase S9B family. DPPIV subfamily.

Product Notes
The DPP8 dpp8 (Catalog #AAA646865) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DPP8, NT (DPP8, DPRP1, Dipeptidyl peptidase 8, Dipeptidyl peptidase IV-related protein 1, Dipeptidyl peptidase VIII, Prolyl dipeptidase DPP8) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DPP8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry, ELISA Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:50-100 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-100 Flow Cytometry: 1:10-50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DPP8 dpp8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DPP8, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
