NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the DOK family of membrane proteins, which are adapter proteins involved in signal transduction. The encoded protein interacts with phosphorylated receptor tyrosine kinases to mediate neurite outgrowth and activation of the MAP kinase pathway. In contrast to other DOK family proteins, this protein does not interact with RASGAP. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
Function: DOK proteins are enzymatically inert adaptor or scaffolding proteins. They provide a docking platform for the assembly of multimolecular signaling complexes. DOK5 functions in RET-mediated neurite outgrowth and plays a positive role in activation of the MAP kinase pathway. Putative link with downstream effectors of RET in neuronal differentiation.
Subunit structure: Interacts with phosphorylated RET. In contrast to other DOK proteins, it does not interact with RASGAP
By similarity.
Tissue specificity: Highest expression in skeletal muscle, lower in brain, heart and kidney. Also detected in activated peripheral blood T-lymphocytes. Ref.2 Ref.3
Domain: PTB domain mediates receptor interaction
By similarity.
Post-translational modification: Phosphorylated on tyrosine residues in response to insulin, IGF1 and GDNF. Ref.3
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the DOK family. Type B subfamily.Contains 1 IRS-type PTB domain.Contains 1 PH domain.

Product Notes
The DOK5 dok5 (Catalog #AAA645928) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DOK5, NT (DOK5, C20orf180, Docking protein 5, Downstream of tyrosine kinase 5, Insulin receptor substrate 6) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DOK5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DOK5 dok5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DOK5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
