Related Product Information for anti-KRT1 antibody
KRT1 (Keratin 1) is a Protein Coding gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin gene family. It belongs to the intermediate filament family. The type II cytokeratins consist of basic or neutral proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratified epithelial tissues. Mutations in the KRT1 gene underlie epidermolytic hyperkeratosis (EHK). This autosomal dominant disorder is characterized by phenotypic heterogeneity. Epidermolytic hyperkeratosis is a rare autosomal dominant inherited skin disorder caused by keratin 1 or keratin 10 mutations. Diseases associated with KRT1 include Palmoplantar Keratoderma, Nonepidermolytic and Ichthyosis Hystrix, Curth-Macklin Type.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin gene family. The type II cytokeratins consist of basic or neutral proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratified epithelial tissues. This type II cytokeratin is specifically expressed in the spinous and granular layers of the epidermis with family member KRT10 and mutations in these genes have been associated with bullous congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma. The type II cytokeratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 12q12-q13. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

May regulate the activity of kinases such as PKC and SRC via binding to integrin beta-1 (ITB1) and the receptor of activated protein C kinase 1 (RACK1). In complex with C1QBP is a high affinity receptor for kininogen-1/HMWK.

Product Notes

The KRT1 krt1 (Catalog #AAA8100581) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Cytokeratin 1/KRT1 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Cytokeratin 1/KRT1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P). IHC-P: 1:250-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KRT1 krt1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cytokeratin 1/KRT1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
