NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of a family of serine/threonine protein kinases that phosphorylate caseins and other acidic proteins. A related protein in the African clawed frog participates in the transmission of Wnt/beta-catenin signaling. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]

Uniprot Description

CK1G3: Serine/threonine-protein kinase. Casein kinases are operationally defined by their preferential utilization of acidic proteins such as caseins as substrates. It can phosphorylate a large number of proteins. Participates in Wnt signaling. Regulates fast synaptic transmission mediated by glutamate. Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. CK1 Ser/Thr protein kinase family. Casein kinase I subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Protein kinase, CK1; Kinase, protein; Protein kinase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); EC 2.7.11.1; CK1 group; CK1 family

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q23

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein serine/threonine kinase activity; ATP binding; protein kinase activity

Biological Process: regulation of cell shape; peptidyl-serine phosphorylation; Wnt receptor signaling pathway; protein modification process; endocytosis; signal transduction

Product Notes

The CSNK1G3 csnk1g3 (Catalog #AAA6467393) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CSNK1G3, CT (Casein Kinase I Isoform gamma-3, CKI-gamma 3) (PE) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CSNK1G3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), FLISA, Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:50-1:100 FLISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:100-1:500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CSNK1G3 csnk1g3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CSNK1G3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
