NCBI Description

Calcium-dependent membrane-binding proteins may regulate molecular events at the interface of the cell membrane and cytoplasm. This gene is one of several genes that encode a calcium-dependent protein containing two N-terminal type II C2 domains and an integrin A domain-like sequence in the C-terminus. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CPNE8: a member of the copine protein family with calcium-dependent phospholipid binding properties. Copines are ubiquitously expressed, phospholipid-binding proteins that have been conserved through evolution. Highest expression of CPNE8 mRNA is seen in the prostate, heart, and brain. Fusion to AML1 in a t(12;21) translocation causes aggressive acute myelogenous leukemia. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Unknown function

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q12

Product Notes

The CPNE8 cpne8 (Catalog #AAA6288363) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CPNE8, NT (CPNE8, Copine-8, Copine VIII) (APC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CPNE8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), FLISA, Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:50-100 FLISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:100-500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CPNE8 cpne8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CPNE8, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
