Target Description: Carboxypeptidase N is a plasma metallo-protease that cleaves basic amino acids from the C terminal of peptides and proteins. The enzyme is important in the regulation of peptides like kinins and anaphylatoxins, and has also been known as kininase-1 and anaphylatoxin inactivator. This enzyme is a tetramer comprised of two identical regulatory subunits and two identical catalytic subunits; this gene encodes the catalytic subunit. Mutations in this gene can be associated with angioedema or chronic urticaria resulting from carboxypeptidase N deficiency.Carboxypeptidase N is a plasma metallo-protease that cleaves basic amino acids from the C terminal of peptides and proteins. Uniprot Description

CPN1: Protects the body from potent vasoactive and inflammatory peptides containing C-terminal Arg or Lys (such as kinins or anaphylatoxins) which are released into the circulation. Defects in CPN1 are the cause of carboxypeptidase N deficiency (CPND). Patients affected present some combination of angioedema or chronic urticaria, as well as hay fever or astma, and have also slightly depressed serum carboxy peptidase N, suggestive of autosomal recessive inheritance of this disorder. Belongs to the peptidase M14 family.

Protein type: EC 3.4.17.3; Secreted, signal peptide; Protease; Secreted

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q24.2

Product Notes

The CPN1 cpn1 (Catalog #AAA3210518) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CPN1 antibody - middle region reacts with Cow, Dog, Guinea Pig, Horse, Human, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat, Zebrafish and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CPN1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CPN1 cpn1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: FQKLAKVYSY AHGWMFQGWN CGDYFPDGIT NGASWYSLSK GMQDFNYLHT. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CPN1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
