Target Description: CNTNAP4 belongs to the neurexin family, members of which function in the vertebrate nervous system as cell adhesion molecules and receptors. This protein, like other neurexin proteins, contains epidermal growth factor repeats and laminin G domains. In addition, it includes an F5/8 type C domain, discoidin/neuropilin- and fibrinogen-like domains, and thrombospondin N-terminal-like domains. This gene product belongs to the neurexin family, members of which function in the vertebrate nervous system as cell adhesion molecules and receptors. NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the neurexin protein family. Members of this family function in the vertebrate nervous system as cell adhesion molecules and receptors. This protein contains epidermal growth factor repeats and laminin G domains. In addition, it includes an F5/8 type C domain, discoidin/neuropilin- and fibrinogen-like domains, and thrombospondin N-terminal-like domains. This protein may also play a role in proper neurotransmission in the dopaminergic and GABAergic systems and mutations in this gene may be associated with certain psychiatric illnesses. A polymorphism in an intron of this gene may be associated with longevity. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016]

Product Notes

The CNTNAP4 cntnap4 (Catalog #AAA3209825) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CNTNAP4 antibody - N-terminal region reacts with Cow, Dog, Guinea Pig, Horse, Human, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CNTNAP4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CNTNAP4 cntnap4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: KLPSTSTLVN LTLGSLLDDQ HWHSVLIQRL GKQVNFTVDE HRHHFHARGE. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CNTNAP4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
