Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Immunohistochemical analysis of CNK2 staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a multidomain protein that functions as a scaffold protein to mediate the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathways downstream from Ras. This gene product is induced by vitamin D and inhibits apoptosis in certain cancer cells. It may also play a role in ternary complex assembly of synaptic proteins at the postsynaptic membrane and coupling of signal transduction to membrane/cytoskeletal remodeling. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2009]

Uniprot Description

CNKSR2: a RAF-binding multidomain protein required for RAS signaling. Contains several protein-protein interaction domains. Its PH domain interacts with Rho in a GTP-dependent manner. Associates with Rhophilin and RalGDS, Rho and Ras effector molecules. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xp22.12

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; postsynaptic membrane; neuron projection; cell soma; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: identical protein binding

Biological Process: regulation of signal transduction

Product Notes

The CNKSR2 cnksr2 (Catalog #AAA8238182) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-CNK2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CNK2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB (1/500 - 1/1000), IHC (1/100 - 1/200). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CNKSR2 cnksr2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CNK2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
