Uniprot Description

CD164: Sialomucin that may play a key role in hematopoiesis by facilitating the adhesion of CD34(+) cells to the stroma and by negatively regulating CD34(+)CD38(lo/-) cell proliferation. Modulates the migration of umbilical cord blood CD133+ cells and this is mediated through the CXCL12/CXCR4 axis. May play an important role in prostate cancer metastasis and the infiltration of bone marrow by cancer cells. Promotes myogenesis by enhancing CXCR4-dependent cell motility. Positively regulates myoblast migration and promotes myoblast fusion into myotubes. Belongs to the CD164 family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell adhesion; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10 B2|10 22.46 cM

Cellular Component: endosome; integral component of membrane; lysosome; membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: cell adhesion; heterophilic cell-cell adhesion via plasma membrane cell adhesion molecules; muscle organ development

Product Notes

The CD164 cd164 (Catalog #AAA2032794) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Cluster Of Differentiation 164 (CD164) Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Cluster Of Differentiation 164 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin/Paraffin, ELISA (EIA). Western Blot: 1:50-400 Immunohistochemistry in formalin fixed frozen section: 1:50-500 Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay: 1:100-200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD164 cd164 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cluster Of Differentiation 164, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
