Related Product Information for anti-MCMBP antibody
CJ119 is a carefully orchestrated process involving many proteins that assemble at origins of replication. Among these are the 6 proteins of the minichromosome maintenance (MCM) complex (e.g., MCM2; MIM 116945), which form a hexamer. Each MCM subunit performs an essential function in initiation and elongation of DNA replication. MCMBP can replace MCM2 in the MCM complex, thus forming an alternative MCM hexamer.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein which is a component of the hexameric minichromosome maintenance (MCM) complex which regulates initiation and elongation of DNA. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012]

Uniprot Description

MCMBP: Associated component of the MCM complex that acts as a regulator of DNA replication. Binds to the MCM complex during late S phase and promotes the disassembly of the MCM complex from chromatin, thereby acting as a key regulator of pre-replication complex (pre-RC) unloading from replicated DNA. Can dissociate the MCM complex without addition of ATP; probably acts by destabilizing interactions of each individual subunits of the MCM complex. Required for sister chromatid cohesion. Belongs to the MCMBP family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Unknown function

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q26.11

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; MCM complex; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; chromatin binding

Biological Process: mitosis; cell division; sister chromatid cohesion; DNA-dependent DNA replication

Product Notes

The MCMBP mcmbp (Catalog #AAA9214564) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 143-171. The CJ119 Antibody (N-term) reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Bovine, Mouse, Rat) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CJ119 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MCMBP mcmbp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CJ119, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
