Related Product Information for anti-CEP164 antibody
Function: Plays a role in microtubule organization and/or maintenance for the formation of primary cilia (PC), a microtubule-based structure that protrudes from the surface of epithelial cells. Plays a critical role in G2/M checkpoint and nuclear divisions. A key player in the DNA damage-activated ATR/ATM signaling cascade since it is required for the proper phosphorylation of H2AX, RPA, CHEK2 and CHEK1. Plays a critical role in chromosome segregation, acting as a mediator required for the maintenance of genomic stability through modulation of MDC1, RPA and CHEK1.
Subunit Structure: Interacts (via N-terminus) with ATRIP. Interacts with ATM, ATR and MDC1. Interacts with XPA (via N-terminus) upon UV irradiation. Interacts with CEP83, CCDC92, TTBK2, DVL3, NPHP3 and weakly with NPHP4.
Post-translational Modifications: Phosphorylation at Ser-186 is induced upon DNA-damage caused by treatment with IR irradiation, UV irradiation, hydroxyurea or amphidicolin. Also MDC1-mediated chromatin remodeling is critical for DNA damage-induced phosphorylation.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a centrosomal protein involved in microtubule organization, DNA damage response, and chromosome segregation. The encoded protein is required for assembly of primary cilia and localizes to mature centrioles. Defects in this gene are a cause of nephronophthisis-related ciliopathies. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2012]

Product Notes

The CEP164 cep164 (Catalog #AAA9603481) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CEP164 Antibody reacts with Human, Rat, Dog and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CEP164 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CEP164 cep164 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CEP164, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
