Related Product Information for anti-CDH22 antibody
This gene is a member of the cadherin superfamily. The
gene product is composed of five cadherin repeat domains and a
cytoplasmic tail similar to the highly conserved cytoplasmic region
of classical cadherins. Expressed predominantly in the brain, this
putative calcium-dependent cell adhesion protein may play an
important role in morphogenesis and tissue formation in neural and
non-neural cells during development and maintenance of the brain
and neuroendocrine organs.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the cadherin superfamily. The gene product is composed of five cadherin repeat domains and a cytoplasmic tail similar to the highly conserved cytoplasmic region of classical cadherins. Expressed predominantly in the brain, this putative calcium-dependent cell adhesion protein may play an important role in morphogenesis and tissue formation in neural and non-neural cells during development and maintenance of the brain and neuroendocrine organs. Uniprot Description

CDH22: Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types. PB-cadherins may have a role in the morphological organization of pituitary gland and brain tissues.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Cell adhesion

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20q13.1

Cellular Component: plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: calcium ion binding

Biological Process: calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion; brain development; homophilic cell adhesion

Product Notes

The CDH22 cdh22 (Catalog #AAA9206691) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 411-440. The CDH22 Antibody (Center) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CDH22 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CDH22 cdh22 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CDH22, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
