Related Product Information for anti-CDCP1 antibody
CDCP1(CUB-domain containing protein 1; also CD318 and SIMA135) is a novel, 135kD cell surface glycoprotein that is found on tumor, stem cells, keratinocytes and colonic epithelial cells. It is reported that this protein is overexpressed in colon and lung cancers. It is a type I transmembrane (TM) protein that is involved with cell adhesion. Mouse CDCP1 is synthesized as an 833 amino acid (aa) precursor. It contains an extracellular region with three CUB domains (aa30-667) and a phosphotyrosine site at Tyr731. When unligated, CDCP1 can be proteolytically cleaved between aa270-300. This generates an 80kD TM protein that may be missing the N-terminal CUB domain (aa 221-350). Over aa25-667, mouse CDCP1 is 83% and 92% aa identical to human and rat CDCP1, respectively.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane protein containing three extracellular CUB domains. This protein is found to be overexpressed in colon and lung cancers. Its expression level is correlated with the metastatic ability of carcinoma cells. This protein is located on the cell surface. It has been shown to be tyrosine phosphorylated in a cancer cell line. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

CDCP1: a transmembrane protein containing three extracellular CUB domains involved in cell adhesion and cell matrix association. May play a role in the regulation of anchorage versus migration or proliferation versus differentiation depending upon its phosphorylation status. Interacts with N- and P-cadherin, syndecans 1 and 4, the serine protease ST14, SRC and PKCG. Highly expressed in mitotic cells with low expression during interphase. Detected at highest levels in skeletal muscle and colon with lower levels in kidney, small intestine, placenta and lung. Up-regulated in a number of human tumor cell lines, as well as in colorectal cancer, breast carcinoma and lung cancer. Its expression level is correlated with the metastatic ability of carcinoma cells. May be a novel marker for leukemia diagnosis and for immature hematopoietic stem cell subsets. Belongs to the tetraspanin web involved in tumor progression and metastasis. Also expressed in cells with phenotypes reminiscent of mesenchymal stem cells and neural stem cells. Three alternatively spliced human isoforms have been reported. Isoform 1 is a single-pass membrane protein that may also be shed, giving rise to a soluble peptide. Isoform 3 is secreted.

Product Notes

The CDCP1 cdcp1 (Catalog #AAA622157) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CDCP1, isoform 1, CT (CUB domain containing protein 1, CD318, Membrane glycoprotein gp140, SIMA135, Subtractive immunization M plus HEp3-associated 135kD protein, Transmembrane and associated with src kinases, TRASK, UNQ2486/PRO5773) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CDCP1, isoform 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: ELISA: 1:32000 Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CDCP1 cdcp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CDCP1, isoform 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
