NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein with an important role in the apoptotic (programmed cell death) pathway induced by the CD27 antigen, a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TFNR) superfamily. The CD27 antigen cytoplasmic tail binds to the N-terminus of this protein. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct proteins have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Siva: a proapoptotic protein. Associates with CD27, a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor family. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described. Isoform 1 but not isoform 2 may induce TNFRSF7/CD27 mediated apoptosis. Isoform 1 inhibits Bcl-xL anti-apoptotic activity.

Protein type: Apoptosis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q32.33

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleoplasm

Molecular Function: CD27 receptor binding; metal ion binding; protein binding; tumor necrosis factor receptor binding; viral receptor activity

Biological Process: entry of virus into host cell

Product Notes

The CD27BP siva1 (Catalog #AAA2028128) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to CD27 Binding Protein (CD27BP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD27 Binding Protein can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin/Paraffin, ELISA (EIA). Western blotting: 0.5-2ug/mL Immunohistochemistry: 5-20ug/mL Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/mL Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD27BP siva1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Antigen: The target protein is fused with two N-terminal Tags, His-tag and T7-tag and its sequence is listed below. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD27 Binding Protein, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
