NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Involved in clearance and endocytosis of hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes by macrophages and may thereby protect tissues from free hemoglobin-mediated oxidative damage. May play a role in the uptake and recycling of iron, via endocytosis of hemoglobin/haptoglobin and subsequent breakdown of heme. Binds hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes in a calcium-dependent and pH-dependent manner. Induces a cascade of intracellular signals that involves tyrosine kinase-dependent calcium mobilization, inositol triphosphate production and secretion of IL6 and CSF1 ().

Product Notes
The CD163 cd163 (Catalog #AAA2556324) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD163 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD163 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC). IHC: 1:200-1:1000 Note: Centrifuge before opening to ensure complete recovery of vial contents. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD163 cd163 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD163, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
