Related Product Information for anti-CD11b antibody
Integrin alpha M (ITGAM) is one protein subunit that forms the heterodimeric integrin alpha-M beta-2 (alphaMbeta2) molecule, also known as macrophage-1 antigen (Mac-1) or cluster of differentiation molecule 11B (CD11B). It is mapped to 16p11.2. ITGAM has a role in vascular repair after mechanical arterial injury. It is implicated in various adhesive interactions of monocytes, macrophages and granulocytes as well as in mediating the uptake of complement-coated particles. What's more, ITGAM probably recognizes the R-G-D peptide in C3b, and it is also a receptor for fibrinogen, factor X and ICAM1.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the integrin alpha M chain. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This I-domain containing alpha integrin combines with the beta 2 chain (ITGB2) to form a leukocyte-specific integrin referred to as macrophage receptor 1 ('Mac-1'), or inactivated-C3b (iC3b) receptor 3 ('CR3'). The alpha M beta 2 integrin is important in the adherence of neutrophils and monocytes to stimulated endothelium, and also in the phagocytosis of complement coated particles. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]

Uniprot Description

Integrin ITGAM/ITGB2 is implicated in various adhesive interactions of monocytes, macrophages and granulocytes as well as in mediating the uptake of complement-coated particles. It is identical with CR-3, the receptor for the iC3b fragment of the third complement component. It probably recognizes the R-G-D peptide in C3b. Integrin ITGAM/ITGB2 is also a receptor for fibrinogen, factor X and ICAM1. It recognizes P1 and P2 peptides of fibrinogen gamma chain. Regulates neutrophil migration (PubMed:28807980). In association with beta subunit ITGB2/CD18, required for CD177-PRTN3-mediated activation of TNF primed neutrophils (PubMed:21193407). May regulate phagocytosis-induced apoptosis in extravasated neutrophils (). May play a role in mast cell development ().

Product Notes

The CD11b itgam (Catalog #AAA1751216) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Human CD11b DyLight 488 conjugated Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD11b can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). FC/FACS: 1-3ug/1x106 cells. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD11b itgam for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD11b, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
