Related Product Information for anti-CaVpan alpha1 Subunit antibody
Ca2+ ions regulate many cellular processes such as secretion, proliferation, and apoptosis and they are also cofactors of many proteins.1, 2 In neurons, Ca2+ entry through voltage-dependent Ca2+ (Cav) channels triggers neurotransmitter release. Fast synaptic transmission in the mammalian central nervous system (CNS) is mediated by several high voltage-dependent Ca2+ channels.3 Five types of Ca2+ channels are expressed in the CNS: the L-type (Cav1), N-type (Cav2.2), P/Q-type (Cav2.1), R-type (Cav2.3), and the T-type (Cav3).4 Each Cav channel is a multimeric protein composed of a pore forming a1 subunit and the auxiliary b(Cavb), a2d and g subunits. There are four known Cavb subunits, in addition to four a2d subunits and eight g subunits.4 The Anti-Cavpan a1 antibody is directed against an intracellular epitope at the C-terminus of the a1 subunit recognizes the high voltage gated calcium channels, Cav1 and Cav2 subfamily members.

Product Notes

The CaVpan alpha1 Subunit (Catalog #AAA4159134) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-CaVpan alpha1 Subunit Antibody reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CaVpan alpha1 Subunit can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: Rat brain membranes (1:200) IHC: Rat heart sections Note: the epitope can be masked by other subunits in some Ca2+ channels. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CaVpan alpha1 Subunit for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CaVpan alpha1 Subunit, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
