Related Product Information for anti-CARD6 antibody
Membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family members localize to the plasma membrane and function as molecular scaffolds for the assembly of multi-protein complexes. The MAGUK family includes several mammalian proteins related to the Drosophila tumor suppressor discs-large (dlg) gene product, such as postsynaptic proteins, GKAPs, the tight junction associated proteins (ZO-1-3) and the caspase-associated recruitment domain (CARD) proteins, CARD 6, CARD 8-12 and CARD 14. CARD 6 is a 311 amino acid protein that associates with microtubules and acts as a selective mediator of NFkappaB activation. CARD 6 is structurally and functionally related to the superfamily of interferon (IFN)-inducible GTPases, a group that comprises host defense proteins which mediate cell-autonomous immunity. RICK, the receptorinteracting protein (RIP)-like interacting caspase-like apoptosis regulatory protein kinase, interacts with CARD 6 and targets it to aggresomes, regions of the cell where protein aggregates collect.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that contains a caspase recruitment domain (CARD), an antiparallel six-helical bundle that mediates homotypic protein-protein interactions. The encoded protein is a microtubule-associated protein that has been shown to interact with receptor-interacting protein kinases and positively modulate signal transduction pathways converging on activation of the inducible transcription factor NF-kB. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CARD6: May be involved in apoptosis.

Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5p13.1

Biological Process: regulation of apoptosis; apoptosis

Product Notes

The CARD6 card6 (Catalog #AAA3000360) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CARD6 (A2) Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CARD6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). IHC: 1:50-1:200 IF: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CARD6 card6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CARD6, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
