Uniprot Description

CEACAM1: carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1. A cell-cell adhesion molecule that directly associates with annexin II. Has tumor suppressor activity in prostate carcinoma. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and the CEA family. Abundantly expressed in epithelia, vessel endothelia, trophoblasts, platelets and neutrophilic granulocytes. Also present in many cell types of the immune system such as B cells, T cells, NK cells, macrophages and dendritic cells. Five alternatively spliced isoforms have been described. Two isoforms are type I membrane proteins, while three are secreted.

Protein type: Cell adhesion; Membrane protein, integral; Immunoglobulin superfamily; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Cellular Component: extracellular space; membrane; brush border membrane; plasma membrane; integral to membrane; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: viral receptor activity; protein binding; protein homodimerization activity; virion binding; protein kinase binding

Biological Process: Peyer's patch development; negative regulation of JNK cascade; entry of virus into host cell; viral reproduction; positive regulation of NFAT protein import into nucleus; positive regulation of JNK cascade; positive regulation of immunoglobulin secretion; calcium-independent cell-cell adhesion; negative regulation of interleukin-2 production; positive regulation of MAP kinase activity; negative regulation of T cell proliferation; calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion; negative regulation of cytokine production; positive regulation of T cell proliferation; homophilic cell adhesion

Product Notes

The CEACAM1 ceacam1 (Catalog #AAA2006771) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Carcinoembryonic Antigen Related Cell Adhesion Molecule 1 (CEACAM1) reacts with Sheep and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Carcinoembryonic Antigen Related Cell Adhesion Molecule 1 (CEACAM1) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) - Formalin/Paraffin, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Western blotting: 1:100-400 Immunocytochemistry in formalin fixed cells: 1:100-500 Immunohistochemistry in formalin fixed frozen section: 1:100-500 Immunohistochemistry in paraffin section: 1:50-200 Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay: 1:100-200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CEACAM1 ceacam1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Carcinoembryonic Antigen Related Cell Adhesion Molecule 1 (CEACAM1), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
