NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the glycosyltransferase 29 family, a group of enzymes involved in protein glycosylation. The encoded protein is targeted to Golgi membranes but may be proteolytically processed and secreted. The gene product may also be involved in the increased expression of sialyl Lewis X antigen seen in inflammatory responses. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
Uniprot Description
ST3GAL4: It may catalyze the formation of the NeuAc-alpha-2,3- Gal-beta-1,3-GalNAc- or NeuAc-alpha-2,3-Gal-beta-1,3-GlcNAc- sequences found in terminal carbohydrate groups of glycoproteins and glycolipids. It may be involved in the biosynthesis of the sialyl Lewis X determinant. Also acts on the corresponding 1,3- galactosyl derivative. Belongs to the glycosyltransferase 29 family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The CA125 st3gal4 (Catalog #
AAA2038942) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The APC-Linked Polyclonal Antibody to Carbohydrate Antigen 125 (CA125) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Carbohydrate Antigen 125 (CA125) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin/Paraffin, ELISA (ELISA). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CA125 st3gal4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"Carbohydrate Antigen 125 (CA125), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
