NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the F-actin capping protein alpha subunit family. It is the alpha subunit of the barbed-end actin binding protein Cap Z. By capping the barbed end of actin filaments, Cap Z regulates the growth of the actin filaments at the barbed end. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
CAPZA2: F-actin-capping proteins bind in a Ca(2+)-independent manner to the fast growing ends of actin filaments (barbed end) thereby blocking the exchange of subunits at these ends. Unlike other capping proteins (such as gelsolin and severin), these proteins do not sever actin filaments. Belongs to the F-actin-capping protein alpha subunit family.
Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cytoskeletal
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q31.2-q31.3
Cellular Component: cortical cytoskeleton; F-actin capping protein complex; membrane; extracellular region; cytosol; actin cytoskeleton
Molecular Function: actin binding
Biological Process: innate immune response; protein complex assembly; cell motility; barbed-end actin filament capping; blood coagulation

Product Notes
The CAPZA2 capza2 (Catalog #AAA7125198) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CAPZA2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CAPZA2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA: 1:2000-1:5000 WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:25-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CAPZA2 capza2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CAPZA2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
