Goat CAMK2A Polyclonal Antibody | anti-CAMK2A antibody
Goat anti-CAMK2A Antibody
Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Brain Cortex shows granular staining in the periphery of pyramydal cell bodies. Recommended concentration, 3-6ug/ml.
Western Blot: Approx 65kDa bands observed in Human Brain (Cerebellum) and Mouse and Rat Brain lysates and an additional 50kDa in the rodent Brain lysates (calculated MW of 55.3kDa according to Human NP_057065.2 and of 54.1 according to Human NP_741960.1 to Mouse NP_803126.1 and to Rat NP_037052.1). The observed molecular weights correspond to earlier findings with different antibodies from other commercial sources. Recommended concentration: 0.1-0.3ug/ml.
Western Blot (WB)
((0.3ug/ml) staining of Human Cerebellum (A), Mouse (B) and Rat Brain (C) lysates (35ug protein in RIPA buffer). Primary incubation was 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
((3.8ug/ml) staining of paraffin embedded Human Brain Cortex. Steamed antigen retrieval with citrate buffer pH 6, AP-staining.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The product of this gene belongs to the serine/threonine protein kinases family, and to the Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinases subfamily. Calcium signaling is crucial for several aspects of plasticity at glutamatergic synapses. This calcium calmodulin-dependent protein kinase is composed of four different chains: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. The alpha chain encoded by this gene is required for hippocampal long-term potentiation (LTP) and spatial learning. In addition to its calcium-calmodulin (CaM)-dependent activity, this protein can undergo autophosphorylation, resulting in CaM-independent activity. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2008]
Uniprot Description
CAMK2A: a protein kinase of the CAMK2 family. A prominent kinase in the central nervous system that may function in long-term potentiation and neurotransmitter release. Member of the NMDAR signaling complex in excitatory synapses that may regulate NMDAR-dependent potentiation of the AMPAR and synaptic plasticity. The holoenzyme is composed of four different chains: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. The different chains assemble into homo- or heteromultimeric holoenzymes composed of 8 to 12 subunits. May interact with BAALC, MPDZ, SYN1 and synGAP. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

The observed molecular weights correspond to earlier findings with different antibodies from other commercial sources. Recommended concentration: 0.1-0.3ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CAMK2A camk2a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: PRTAQSEETR VWHR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CAMK2A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
