Calumenin Antibody
Predicted: Pig, Bovine, Horse, Sheep, Rabbit, Dog
Predicted: Pig, Bovine, Horse, Sheep, Rabbit, Dog
Immunofluorescence (IF)/Immunocytochemistry (ICC)
(staining Hela cells by IF/ICC. The samples were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100,then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25 degree C. Samples were then incubated with primary Ab(1:200) and mouse anti-beta tubulin Ab(1:200) for 1 hour at 37 degree C. An AlexaFluor594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG(H+L) Ab(1:200 Red) and an AlexaFluor488 conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG(H+L) Ab(1:600 Green) were used as the secondary antibod)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of extracts from B16F10, using Calumenin Antibody. The lane on the left was treated with blocking peptide.)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of extracts from HepG2 cells, using Calumenin Antibody. The lane on the left was treated with blocking peptide.)
Subunit Structure: Interacts with GGCX.
Similarity: Belongs to the CREC family.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Predicted: 38 kDa
NCBI Description
The product of this gene is a calcium-binding protein localized in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and it is involved in such ER functions as protein folding and sorting. This protein belongs to a family of multiple EF-hand proteins (CERC) that include reticulocalbin, ERC-55, and Cab45 and the product of this gene. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]
Uniprot Description
CALU: Involved in regulation of vitamin K-dependent carboxylation of multiple N-terminal glutamate residues. Seems to inhibit gamma-carboxylase GGCX. Binds 7 calcium ions with a low affinity. Belongs to the CREC family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The CALU calu (Catalog #AAA9611627) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Calumenin Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse Predicted: Pig, Bovine, Horse, Sheep, Rabbit, Dog and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Calumenin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CALU calu for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Calumenin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
