Related Product Information for anti-CALCR antibody
CALCR is a high affinity receptor for the peptide hormone calcitonin and belongs to a subfamily of seven transmembrane-spanning G protein-coupled receptors. The encoded protein is involved in maintaining calcium homeostasis and in regulating osteoclast-mediated bone resorption. Polymorphisms in this gene have been associated with variations in bone mineral density and onset of osteoporosis.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a high affinity receptor for the peptide hormone calcitonin and belongs to a subfamily of seven transmembrane-spanning G protein-coupled receptors. The encoded protein is involved in maintaining calcium homeostasis and in regulating osteoclast-mediated bone resorption. Polymorphisms in this gene have been associated with variations in bone mineral density and onset of osteoporosis. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Uniprot Description

CALCR: This is a receptor for calcitonin. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. The calcitonin receptor is thought to couple to the heterotrimeric guanosine triphosphate-binding protein that is sensitive to cholera toxin. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 2 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: GPCR, family 2; Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q21.3

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding; calcitonin binding; receptor activity; protein transporter activity; calcitonin receptor activity

Product Notes

The CALCR calcr (Catalog #AAA9202595) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 445-474. The CALCR Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CALCR can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CALCR calcr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CALCR, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
