Applicable Applications for anti-CALCR antibody
ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Application Notes
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, ELISA and Western Blot.
Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:10-1:100. The use of 4% paraformaldehyde fixation, rather than formalin fixation, is recommended. A sensitive detection system is also recommended; e.g. a catalyzed signal amplification system. Paraffin sections do not require protein digestion pre-treatment. Does not require antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining.
ELISA: 1:10,000
Western Blot: Reducing conditions
Optimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide derived from sequence of rat calcitonin receptor.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-CALCR antibody
Calcitonin receptor is a membrane protein with seven transmembrane domains that are coupled to G protein messenger systems. The calcitonin receptor is expressed in kidney, central and peripheral nervous systems and in osteoclasts. It is also expressed in a number of tissues during the development of the embyro. It may be important in fetal morphogenesis.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a high affinity receptor for the peptide hormone calcitonin and belongs to a subfamily of seven transmembrane-spanning G protein-coupled receptors. The encoded protein is involved in maintaining calcium homeostasis and in regulating osteoclast-mediated bone resorption. Polymorphisms in this gene have been associated with variations in bone mineral density and onset of osteoporosis. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

CALCR: This is a receptor for calcitonin. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. The calcitonin receptor is thought to couple to the heterotrimeric guanosine triphosphate-binding protein that is sensitive to cholera toxin. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 2 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The CALCR calcr (Catalog #AAA621183) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Calcitonin Receptor reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Calcitonin Receptor can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA: 1:10,000 Western Blot: Reducing conditions Optimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CALCR calcr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Calcitonin Receptor, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
