NCBI Description

has high voltage L-type calcium channel activity that is sensitive to dihydropyridines [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

CACNA1D: Voltage-sensitive calcium channels (VSCC) mediate the entry of calcium ions into excitable cells and are also involved in a variety of calcium-dependent processes, including muscle contraction, hormone or neurotransmitter release, gene expression, cell motility, cell division and cell death. The isoform alpha-1D gives rise to L-type calcium currents. Long-lasting (L-type) calcium channels belong to the 'high-voltage activated' (HVA) group. They are blocked by dihydropyridines (DHP), phenylalkylamines, benzothiazepines, and by omega-agatoxin-IIIA (omega-Aga-IIIA). They are however insensitive to omega-conotoxin- GVIA (omega-CTx-GVIA) and omega-agatoxin-IVA (omega-Aga-IVA). Belongs to the calcium channel alpha-1 subunit (TC 1.A.1.11) family. CACNA1D subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Channel, calcium; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Cellular Component: cell soma; apical plasma membrane; dendrite; plasma membrane; voltage-gated calcium channel complex; nucleus; Z disc; sarcolemma

Molecular Function: voltage-gated calcium channel activity; protein binding; metal ion binding; high voltage-gated calcium channel activity; ankyrin binding; alpha-actinin binding; PDZ domain binding

Biological Process: G-protein signaling, coupled to cAMP nucleotide second messenger; sensory perception of sound; calcium ion transport; heart development; activation of CREB transcription factor; calcium-mediated signaling; regulation of calcium ion transport; positive regulation of calcium ion transport; memory; aging

Product Notes

The Cacna1d cacna1d (Catalog #AAA6269434) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Cacna1d, NT (Voltage-dependent L-type Calcium Channel Subunit alpha-1D, Calcium Channel, L Type, alpha-1 Polypeptide, Isoform 2, Rat Brain Class D, RBD, Voltage-gated Calcium Channel Subunit alpha Cav1.3, Cach3, Cacn4, Cacnl1a2, Cchl1a2) (MaxLight 405) reacts with Rat, Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Cacna1d can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:200 WB: 0.1ug/ml Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Cacna1d cacna1d for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cacna1d, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
