NCBI Description

This locus encodes a sensory epithelial protein. It was defined by linkage analysis in three Pakistani families to lie between D9S1818 (centromeric) and D9SH6 (telomeric). Mutations at this locus have been associated with autosomal recessive deafness. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2010]

Uniprot Description

TPRN: Defects in TPRN are the cause of deafness autosomal recessive type 79 (DFNB79). DFNB79 is characterized by progressive hearing loss leading to profound deafness. There are no symptoms of vestibular dysfunction. Belongs to the taperin family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9q34.3

Cellular Component: stereocilium

Molecular Function: phosphatase binding

Biological Process: sensory perception of sound

Disease: Deafness, Autosomal Recessive 79

Product Notes

The C9ORF75 tprn (Catalog #AAA5303332) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The C9ORF75 antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's C9ORF75 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the C9ORF75 tprn for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "C9ORF75, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
