NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a serine protease, which is a major constituent of the human complement subcomponent C1. C1s associates with two other complement components C1r and C1q in order to yield the first component of the serum complement system. Defects in this gene are the cause of selective C1s deficiency. Uniprot Description
C1S: C1s B chain is a serine protease that combines with C1q and C1r to form C1, the first component of the classical pathway of the complement system. C1r activates C1s so that it can, in turn, activate C2 and C4. Defects in C1S are the cause of complement component C1s deficiency (C1SD). A rare defect resulting in C1 deficiency and impaired activation of the complement classical pathway. C1 deficiency generally leads to severe immune complex disease with features of systemic lupus erythematosus and glomerulonephritis. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family.

Product Notes
The C1S c1s (Catalog #AAA6371661) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The C1S (Complement C1s Subcomponent, C1 Esterase, Complement Component 1 Subcomponent S) (PE) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's C1S can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the C1S c1s for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "C1S, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
