Related Product Information for anti-BTG3 antibody
B-cell translocation gene 3 (BTG3) has been identified as a candidate driver gene for various cancers. BTG3 expression might contribute to CRC carcinogenesis. BTG3 knockdown might strengthen the aggressive colorectal cancer behavior. BTG3 knockdown promoted cell proliferation, migration, invasion, relieved G2 arrest, and inhibited apoptosis in HCT116 and LoVo cells. BTG3 may be involved in the occurrence and development of tumor, and its low expression may be associated with poor prognosis in patients with PDAC. BTG3 overexpression could inhibit cell proliferation and invasion and promotes cell apoptosis in EOC cell, possibly by regulating the AKT/GSK3beta/beta-catenin signaling pathway, providing novel insights into the treatment of EOC through BTG3 overexpression. MiR-93 was decreased and BTG3 was increased in ESC cells, with a negative correlation of their expression in ESC tissues. Direct downregulation of BTG3 by miR-93 is able to render ESC resistant to radiotherapy, and both BTG3 and miR-93 may potentially serve as clinical markers for ESC and contribute to the treatment of ESC.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the BTG/Tob family. This family has structurally related proteins that appear to have antiproliferative properties. This encoded protein might play a role in neurogenesis in the central nervous system. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2008]

Uniprot Description

BTG3: Overexpression impairs serum-induced cell cycle progression from the G0/G1 to S phase. Belongs to the BTG family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 21q21.1

Cellular Component: cytoplasm

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; negative regulation of mitotic cell cycle

Product Notes

The BTG3 btg3 (Catalog #AAA8102431) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-BTG3 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human Predicted to React with: Mouse, Rat (Species predicted to react based on 100% sequence homology) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BTG3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P). IHC-P: 1:200-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BTG3 btg3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BTG3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
