Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Immunohistochemical analysis of BMX (pY566) staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)

Immunofluorescence (IF)

(Immunofluorescent analysis of BMX (pY566) staining in HeLa cells. Formalin-fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 5-10 minutes and blocked with 3% BSA-PBS for 30 minutes at room temperature. Cells were probed with the primary antibody in 3% BSA-PBS and incubated overnight at 4 °C in a humidified chamber. Cells were washed with PBST and incubated with a DyLight 594-conjugated secondary antibody (red) in PBS at room temperature in the dark. DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclei (blue).)

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a non-receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the Tec kinase family. The protein contains a PH-like domain, which mediates membrane targeting by binding to phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-triphosphate (PIP3), and a SH2 domain that binds to tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins and functions in signal transduction. The protein is implicated in several signal transduction pathways including the Stat pathway, and regulates differentiation and tumorigenicity of several types of cancer cells. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

Etk: a tyrosine kinase of the Tec family. Activity is required for IL6-induced differentiation. May play a role in the growth and differentiation of hematopoietic cells. May be involved in signal transduction in endocardial and arterial endothelial cells.

Product Notes

The BMX bmx (Catalog #AAA8238336) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-BMX (pY566) Phospho Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BMX can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB),Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). WB (1/500 - 1/1000), IHC (1/100 - 1/200), IF (1/100 - 1/500), ICC (1/100 - 1/500). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BMX bmx for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BMX, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
