Related Product Information for anti-BCL2A1 antibody
Bcl-2 related Protein A1 is a member of the BCL-2 protein family. The proteins of this family form hetero-or homodimers and act as anti-and pro-apoptotic regulators that are involved in a wide variety of cellular activities such as embryonic development, homeostasis and tumorigenesis. The protein encoded by this gene is able to reduce the release of pro-apoptotic cytochrome c from mitochondria and block caspase activation. This gene is a direct transcription target of NF-kappa B in response to inflammatory mediators, and has been shown to be up-regulated by different extracellular signals, such as granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), CD40, phorbol ester and inflammatory cytokine TNF and IL-1, which suggests a cytoprotective function that is essential for lymphocyte activation as well as cell survival.

The protein encoded by this gene is able to reduce the release of pro-apoptotic cytochrome c from mitochondria and block caspase activation. Uniprot Description

BCL2A1: Retards apoptosis induced by IL-3 deprivation. May function in the response of hemopoietic cells to external signals and in maintaining endothelial survival during infection. Interacts directly with BAK1, BID, BMF and BBC3. Interacts directly with BCL2L11/BIM. Interacts with BAX isoform Sigma. Interacts directly with PMAIP1. By phorbol ester and inflammatory cytokines, such as TNF or IL1B/interleukin-1 beta, but not by growth factors. Seems to be restricted to the hematopoietic compartment. Expressed in peripheral blood, spleen, and bone marrow, at moderate levels in lung, small intestine and testis, at a minimal levels in other tissues. Also found in vascular smooth muscle cells and hematopoietic malignancies. Belongs to the Bcl-2 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q24.3

Cellular Component: mitochondrial outer membrane

Molecular Function: BH domain binding; protein binding; protein homodimerization activity; protein heterodimerization activity

Biological Process: DNA damage response, signal transduction resulting in induction of apoptosis; negative regulation of apoptosis

Product Notes

The BCL2A1 bcl2a1 (Catalog #AAA6277973) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The BCL2A1, ID (BCL2A1, BCL2L5, BFL1, GRS, HBPA1, Bcl-2-related protein A1, Bcl-2-like protein 5, Hemopoietic-specific early response protein, Protein BFL-1, Protein GRS) (MaxLight 550) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BCL2A1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), FLISA, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). FC/FACS: 1:10-50 FLISA: 1:1,000 IHC: 1:50-100 WB: 1:50-100 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BCL2A1 bcl2a1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BCL2A1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
