NCBI Description

BCAR1, or CAS, is an Src (MIM 190090) family kinase substrate involved in various cellular events, including migration, survival, transformation, and invasion (Sawada et al., 2006 [PubMed 17129785]).[supplied by OMIM, May 2009]

Uniprot Description

P130Cas: a docking protein containing multiple protein-protein interaction domains. Plays a central coordinating role for tyrosine-kinase-based signaling related to cell adhesion. Implicated in induction of cell migration. The amino-terminal SH3 domain regulates its interaction with focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and the FAK-related kinase PYK2 and also with tyrosine phosphatases PTP-1B and PTP-PEST. Overexpression confers antiestrogen resistance on breast cancer cells.

Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16q23.1

Cellular Component: ruffle; focal adhesion; lamellipodium; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; nucleolus; cytosol; actin cytoskeleton

Molecular Function: protein binding; signal transducer activity; protein kinase binding; SH3 domain binding

Biological Process: antigen receptor-mediated signaling pathway; integrin-mediated signaling pathway; epidermal growth factor receptor signaling pathway; platelet activation; cell migration; nerve growth factor receptor signaling pathway; actin filament organization; platelet-derived growth factor receptor signaling pathway; hepatocyte growth factor receptor signaling pathway; T cell receptor signaling pathway; regulation of apoptosis; cell proliferation; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; B cell receptor signaling pathway; cell division; insulin receptor signaling pathway; regulation of cell growth; blood coagulation; vascular endothelial growth factor receptor signaling pathway; cell adhesion; positive regulation of cell migration

Product Notes

The BCAR1 bcar1 (Catalog #AAA2521647) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The BCAR1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BCAR1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). WB: 1:500-1:5000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 IF: 1:20-1:50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BCAR1 bcar1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BCAR1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
