NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
BMZF-2: Essential component of the NoRC (nucleolar remodeling complex) complex, a complex that mediates silencing of a fraction of rDNA by recruiting histone-modifying enzymes and DNA methyltransferases, leading to heterochromatin formation and transcriptional silencing. In the complex, it plays a central role by being recruited to rDNA and by targeting chromatin modifying enzymes such as HDAC1, leading to repress RNA polymerase I transcription. Recruited to rDNA via its interaction with TTF1 and its ability to recognize and bind histone H4 acetylated on 'Lys- 16' (H4K16ac), leading to deacetylation of H4K5ac, H4K8ac, H4K12ac but not H4K16ac. Specifically binds pRNAs, 150-250 nucleotide RNAs that are complementary in sequence to the rDNA promoter; pRNA- binding is required for heterochromatin formation and rDNA silencing. Belongs to the WAL family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The BAZ2A baz2a (Catalog #AAA2566010) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The BAZ2A Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BAZ2A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). IHC: 1:50-1:100 IF: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BAZ2A baz2a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BAZ2A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
