Related Product Information for anti-BATF3 antibody
BATF3, also known as SNFT, belongs to the basic leucine zipper transcriptional family and functions as a transcriptional repressor when heterodimerizing with Jun (1) and can repress the transcription of IL-2 and MMP-1 (1,2). BATF3 is required for the development of CD8alpha+ classical dendritic cells (DCs) and the related CD103+ DCs that cross-present antigens to CD8 T cells (3,4).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the basic leucine zipper protein family. The encoded protein functions as a transcriptional repressor when heterodimerizing with JUN. The protein may play a role in repression of interleukin-2 and matrix metalloproteinase-1 transcription.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]

Uniprot Description

BATF3: Functions as a negative regulator of AP-1-mediated transcription by heterodimerizing with JUN and binding DNA at 12- O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate response elements (TRE) (consensus: 5'-TGA[CG]TCA-3'). Represses IL2 and MMP1 promoter activities. Belongs to the bZIP family.

Protein type: DNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q32.3

Cellular Component: nucleus

Molecular Function: transcription corepressor activity; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; response to virus; myeloid dendritic cell differentiation; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter

Product Notes

The BATF3 batf3 (Catalog #AAA153454) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The BATF3 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BATF3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). BATF3 body can be used for detection of BATF3 by Western blot at 1 - 2 ug/ml. Optimal dilutions for each application to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BATF3 batf3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BATF3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
