Beta-2-Microglobulin (human urine).
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-HLA-G antibody
Beta-2-microglobulin (B2M) is found in the serum of normal individuals and in the urine in elevated amounts in patients with Wilson disease, cadmium poisoning, and other conditions leading to renal tubular dysfunction. Like immunoglobulins, prealbumin, and the beta protein found in the amyloid of Alzheimer disease, B2M has a predominantly beta-pleated sheet structure that may adopt the fibrillar configuration of amyloid in certain pathologic states. The protein is a single polypeptide chain of molecular weight 11,600 (human 119 aa, chromosome 15). B2M associates with heavy chain of class I MHC antigens on the cell surface. A transient complex of MHC-heavy chain and B2M is is known to be assembled into the TAP molecule involving interaction with a number of chaperones. Binding of the processed peptide releases the class I-B2M complex to the cell surface. Absence of binding leads to degradation in the proteasome. Progressive hepatic iron overload, indistinguishable from that observed in HFE, was found only in mice homozygous for the mutated B2M gene.

NCBI Description

HLA-G belongs to the HLA class I heavy chain paralogues. This class I molecule is a heterodimer consisting of a heavy chain and a light chain (beta-2 microglobulin). The heavy chain is anchored in the membrane. HLA-G is expressed on fetal derived placental cells. The heavy chain is approximately 45 kDa and its gene contains 8 exons. Exon one encodes the leader peptide, exons 2 and 3 encode the alpha1 and alpha2 domain, which both bind the peptide, exon 4 encodes the alpha3 domain, exon 5 encodes the transmembrane region, and exon 6 encodes the cytoplasmic tail. Uniprot Description

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the MHC class I family. RuleBase RU004439

Product Notes

The HLA-G hla-g (Catalog #AAA610793) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The b2-Microglobulin (Biotin) (B2M) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's b2-Microglobulin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Immunomicroscopy. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 ELISA: 1:2000-1:10,000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:500-1:3000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HLA-G hla-g for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "b2-Microglobulin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
