Background: Arginine vasopressin receptor 1A(officially called AVPR1A) is one of the three major receptor types for arginine vasopressin (AVPR1B and AVPR2 being the others). It belongs to the subfamily of G-protein coupled receptors which includes AVPR1B, V2R and OXT receptors. This gene is mapped to 12q14.2. AVPR1A is present throughout the brain, as well as in the periphery, in the liver, kidney, and vasculature. The protein encoded by this gene acts as receptor for arginine vasopressin. Its activity is mediated by G proteins which stimulate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. The receptor mediates cell contraction and proliferation, platelet aggregation, release of coagulation factor and glycogenolysis.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a receptor for arginine vasopressin, a neurohypophyseal hormone involved in diuresis inhibition, smooth muscle contraction, liver glycogenolysis stimulation and regulation of adrenocorticotropic hormone release from the pituitary. This receptor represents one of three G protein-coupled arginine vasopressin receptors which functions through a phosphotidylinositol-calcium second messenger system in vascular and hepatic tissues. Uniprot Description
AVPR1A: Receptor for arginine vasopressin. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate a phosphatidyl- inositol-calcium second messenger system. Has been involved in social behaviors, including affiliation and attachment. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. Vasopressin/oxytocin receptor subfamily.

The Anti-AVPR1A antibody reacts with Reacts with: Human, Rat Predicted to work with: Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's AVPR1A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: Concentration: 0.1-0.5ug/ml Tested Species: Hu, Rat Predicted Species: Ms Tested Species: In-house tested species with positive results. Predicted Species: Species predicted to be fit for the product based on sequence similarities. Other applications have not been tested. Optimal dilutions should be determined by end users. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AVPR1A avpr1a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AVPR1A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
