Related Product Information for anti-ATPAF2 antibody
This gene encodes an assembly factor for the F(1) component of the mitochondrial ATP synthase. This protein binds specifically to the F1 alpha subunit and is thought to prevent this subunit from forming nonproductive homooligomers during enzyme assembly. This gene is located within the Smith-Magenis syndrome region on chromosome 17. An alternatively spliced transcript variant has been described, but its biological validity has not been determined.

Uniprot Description

ATPAF2: May play a role in the assembly of the F1 component of the mitochondrial ATP synthase (ATPase). Defects in ATPAF2 are a cause of mitochondrial complex V deficiency nuclear type 1 (MC5DN1). A mitochondrial disorder with heterogeneous clinical manifestations including dysmorphic features, psychomotor retardation, hypotonia, growth retardation, cardiomyopathy, enlarged liver, hypoplastic kidneys and elevated lactate levels in urine, plasma and cerebrospinal fluid. Belongs to the ATP12 family.

Protein type: Mitochondrial

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17p11.2

Cellular Component: mitochondrion; nuclear speck

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: proton-transporting ATP synthase complex assembly

Disease: Mitochondrial Complex V (atp Synthase) Deficiency, Nuclear Type 1

Product Notes

The ATPAF2 atpaf2 (Catalog #AAA8570610) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ATPAF2 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ATPAF2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ATPAF2 atpaf2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ATPAF2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
